The Electrical Licensing Board and regulator DEMIRS, have endorsed this program at a level of training that is consistent with the minimum needs of a person seeking to be the Management Representative within an electrical contracting business.

A reasonable level of computer literacy is required to complete the assessments for this course.

EA103B - General Legislative Requirements (Management Representative)

  • Investigate and identify State / Federal Legislation as it applies to:
  • The structure of an electrical contracting business; Workplace Relations and human resources; The market place
  • Analyse and describe the intent and implications of the identified State and Federal Legislation
  • Establish an electrical operational plan and policies to give effect to the procedures, processes and legislative obligations of an electrical contracting business

EA102 - Establishing a Contracting Business (Management Representative)

  • Evaluate those factors that influence the performances and structure of a small contracting business
  • Establish a marketing plan for a small contracting business
  • Evaluate the labour costs and profit margins associated with a small contracting business.

Your spouse is welcome to join you, free of charge, for the Management Representative portion (delivered over five consecutive days) of the Electrical Contractor course so they may gain the knowledge required to support you in operating your contracting business. Please notify us to ensure they will have a seat in class.

RPL Assessment: If you are able to demonstrate more than 5 years of experience operating a business, you may be eligible to apply for a Recognition of Prior Learning assessment for EA102 only. Please contact the office to assess your eligibility to enrol for RPL – info@combinedskills.com.au. If you are successful in your RPL assessment of EA102, module EA103B can be completed via correspondence.
