Low Voltage Rescue (LVR)

Overview

This one day course is designed for participants to who need may be required to provide CPR, perform a first aid response in an emergency situation, including community and workplace settings to refresh their skills. This course provides students with the confidence and competence to perform CPR on casualties who may have suffered electrocution from a low voltage installation.

For the LVR Refresher Module you are required to have previously completed this module of which evidence is required. Evidence can be formal or informal qualifications, certificates, statement of results, statements of attainments, course transcripts or testamurs.

Participants must have basic language, literacy, numeracy (LLN) and physical capabilities to meet the performance criteria of this unit. (For further information or if you have any concerns regarding LLN and/or physical capabilities please contact the office).

All participants MUST be over 18yrs (or have a signed consent by a parent or guardian if under 18yrs and provide a minimum of 2 forms of identification, one of which must be photographic.

All students are required to have a Unique Student Identifier Number (USI) for all nationally recognised courses that you attend.

Modules

Upon completion of this course, each participant will be issued with a Statement of Attainment for:

HLTAID009 - Provide CPR

UETDRRF004 - Perform Rescue from a Live LV Panel

Topics covered:

  • Electrical safety
  • Rescue principles
  • Maintain safety/rescue equipment
  • Provide CPR to adult casualties
  • Rescue principles
  • Assessing the scene
  • Using a LVR kit
  • Manage injuries
  • Recovery position
  • Handover to medical personnel

Each module is nationally recognised and has a 12 month validity. Low Voltage Rescue must also be completed every 12 months by anyone working LIVE.
