Certificate IV in Project Management Practice - BSB41515

Overview

The BSB41515 Certificate IV in Project Management Practice will provide you with the skills and knowledge to be an effective member of a project team within any industry sector. This course would be ideally suited to people who are aspiring to commence an exciting and in-demand career in the project management discipline, and for those already working in project roles who are seeking a formal qualification to consolidate their experience and knowledge.

Job roles vary across different industry sectors and include Contracts Officer, Estimator, Scheduler, Project Officer, Project Administrator and Project Coordinator.

The Certificate IV course is offered as a five day classroom course. We do not offer this course online.

Upon successful completion of this course , you will attain the nationally recognised Australian Qualification of BSB41515 Certificate IV in Project Management Practice.

Pre-requisites

There are no licensing, legislative or certifications requirements that apply to this qualification. However, candidates are required to have sufficient numeracy, literacy and communication skills to read and comprehend instructions for:

  • Referencing and understanding legislation, standards and codes of practice
  • Consulting and communication with workers and employers
  • Developing strategies
  • Writing reports

Course Content

The course covers all facets of project management and you will gain valuable skills including setting timelines, managing human resources, ensuring quality and effective budget management. This is delivered as ten units:

  • BSBPMG417 Apply project life cycle management processes
  • BSBPMG416 Apply project procurement procedures
  • BSBPMG409 Apply project scope-management techniques;
  • BSBPMG410 Apply project time-management techniques;
  • BSBPMG411 Apply project quality-management techniques;
  • BSBPMG412 Apply project cost-management techniques;
  • BSBPMG413 Apply project human resources management approaches;
  • BSBPMG414 Apply project information management and communications techniques;
  • BSBPMG415 Apply project risk-management techniques.

Course Duration

The Certificate IV course is offered as a five day classroom course. We do not offer this course online.

Course Outcomes

By the end of this course participants should be able to:

  • demonstrate scope management techniques
  • demonstrate successful application of time management tools and techniques
  • contribute to projects for quality outcomes
  • Monitor project budgets according to the allocated costs
  • Contribute to project personnel selection and monitor how performance is achieved
  • Contribute to a communication plan that implements a range of project communication techniques that facilitates effective outcomes
  • Support project planning and design
  • Perform risk control activities
  • assist procurement and contracting processes for a project

Course Fee

  • $1,450 - Classroom based
  • $1,450 - Recognised Prior Learning (RPL)

CTF Subsidy available

This course is subsidised by the Construction Training Fund and funding is available to any worker currently employed in the construction industry or if currently unemployed, has been employed in the Building Construction Industry in WA during the 6 months preceding the attendance at this course. Does not include mining, gas, or oil sites.

The CSTA wishes to acknowledge the continued support of the CTF as a positive encouragement for workers employed in this industry to expand their skills and knowledge.
